Great Grandma Martin's Fried Apple Pies

This recipe was written down exactly like my Great Grandma Minnie Ola Parker Martin told it to me.
2 cups dried apples
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
sugar to taste
crust
Cover apples with water, cook until soft adding more water as necessary.
Beat or blend apples until smooth.
Add nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar.
Make a white bread dough omitting shortening.
Roll out as for pastry crust, only not quite as thin.
Cut out circles of dough, "the size of a sauce pan".
Place 1 1/2 to 2 Tbls filling on each side of the circle.
Fold other side over to form a half moon.
Wet edges of crust with water and seal edges by pressing with fork.
Fry in deep pot of oil until brown.
