The Importance of a Solid Website & What to Expect

A strong online platform should captivate your audience while ensuring search engines can find you effortlessly. User experience (UX) is so important to me. Have you ever went to a website with a basic question and can't find the answer because the site is too hard to navigate? Organization is one of my top building blocks. With extensive web design experience, I also focus on boosting your brand's aesthetics by partnering with talented photographers and artists. I know that I am tired of stock photos and animations covering up laziness in a brand. Show you are serious and have put the work into your publication, your restaurant, your food truck, your career, your business by investing in professional photographs, a web designer, a book cover artist, whatever it calls for ... a well crafted appearance.

I have been building websites since I worked as a fundraiser and event planner. I worked with various programs over the years and now I choose Wix exclusively. My websites have alot of time and thought put into them. They are not quick templates just to get you online. If you have taken the time and effort to write a book or build a restaurant or develop a product, your online presence should show you are serious as well. I make sure every detail reflects your intention. I cannot express enough the importance of professional photographs and/or graphic design in a website, social media, book covers, etc. Take the time, spend the money on a custom designed website and logo. 

I commission artists, photographers, buy crafted fonts, ... so that your site gives the look you envision. Alot of my clients in the past tried to build a DIY site and then came to me not willing to invest and you can see the difference. Now I require my clients to be as invested as I am in producing the best product.

This is my process:

1. Fill out this form. (click here)

2. We will talk or email and I will assess your project details.

3. I will send you a proposal via email. We can set up a time to talk if you wish as well.

4. I use Wix Studio and Wix Classic for my website platform of choice. I am a Wix Professional Partner. I use Google Workspace for professional emails and I highly recommend setting up your Google Business Profile for all businesses. I use Wix Email Marketing or Kit for newsletters but there are many options. I recommend your own website for blogs but in some specific cases I advise using Substack. I can help you set up your Substack and integrate it with your website as well. 

5. Once terms are agreed upon, I will send you an invoice for the deposit. 

6. You will receive a list of questions and content to provide to me via email.

7. I require professional high resolution photographs. (If you have questions about setting up a photo shoot, feel free to ask.) I also have several wonderful photographers that I work with who I commission for subject photos instead of stock that we can use to create a cohesive high-end look. I also use stock photos when it fits. If you are local, I will set a photo shoot up for you with myself and my photographer.

8. I require all content to be provided by the start date. I will not start building a site without your content or deposit. 

9. I am not responsible for copywriting, creating content, or sales. I will give you advice and guidance but you know your story or product best.

10. Once the desktop version is built (typically between 2 to 3 weeks), I will send you a first look. This is your opportunity to look it over and give feedback about the things you would like changed. Submit your edit requests through email only. Please no text message or voicemail for specific edit requests. 

11. Depending on what services that we agreed upon, I will set up your professional email address(es), blog, and email marketing system once the domain is connected. 

12. Once the site is complete, I will transfer ownership to you, you will set up your payment information for platform/hosting/domain renewal. Then we will set up a meeting to go over your site. (Your first year with Wix and Google Workspace is included in the design package.)

13. The remaining balance will be due upon completion.
